Founded in 2012, LaunchIT is a spin-off of Salem Associates, a software development and IT services company. After managing Salem Associates’ services for more than a decade, Hiram Houghton purchased the service side of the Des Moines, Iowa branch and rebranded it as LaunchIT. With Des Moines as the company’s headquarters, LaunchIT also has branch offices in Plano, Texas; Mississauga, Ontario; and Chennai, India.

Twenty years has allowed the company to evolve from offering not only software integrations, migrations, and custom development but also managed IT services. LaunchIT’s managed services endeavor began organically and by popular demand with their clients outsourcing the monitoring and management of their systems to LaunchIT’s India branch.

Because of their successful background in the software development industry, LaunchIT is not a typical managed services provider. Aligning with the changing business and enterprise tech landscape, LaunchIT’s managed services go beyond the basic management and repair of PCs. Today, they manage tablets, cell phones, phone systems with VoIP, remote devices, and cloud-based software. Recently, LaunchIT successfully helped a Des Moines-based nonprofit with multiple facilities upgrade their technology infrastructure on a limited budget. The client had several non-standardized technologies in place and multiple technology contracts. LaunchIT reviewed all contracts and assisted with updating them so that employees would have access to the latest technology. LaunchIT experts also renegotiated several contracts to reduce the client’s spending by $700 per month.
